Ode to Online Friendship

In this week's Team Carnival, canDIshhh Tales asks about online friendships.

I have my fair share of online friendships. I'm really a shy person if you meet me personally but because of the Internet, I have managed to gain friends although I've never met them.

It started in 2004 when I became a member of a weddings yahoogroups. There I met (virtually) brides-to-be and found a great support group for the stress and joys of preparing a wedding. From then, I moved to another yahoogroups for newlyweds.

I'm also a member of several online communities like Peyups, Team Carnival, etc. There I've made some nice friends.

And thanks to Facebook, I have another venue to meet old and new friends. People I haven't seen in years are now a click away. I am updated with their lives, thanks to technology.

What can I say?! The online world has allowed me to connect with more people. Here's to online friendships!
